Market

The market for Zeracryl™ is primarily on the world food industry. Global concern about acrylamide in food has been building steadily since the Swedish study in 2002. In Europe (World Health Organization), as well as in the US, there is a growing demand to lower the demand of this carcinogen in the food on a daily basis.

Proposition 65, has required acrylamide to be listed as a known toxin, effective 25 Feb. 2011. The fast food industry, baking, coffee and certain snack food industries have all been notified to begin lowering acrylamide in their products. Until the Zeracryl™ process, there has not been a practical way to do this.

Of particular interest is the potato industry where the worldwide consumption of potatoes is more then 40M tons and growing. Potatoes are naturally high in asparagin and sugar. In the presence of starch and heat, it creates very high levels of acrylamide. The Zeracryl™ process has the ability to lower levels of acrylamide up to 90% in a safe, cost effective and production friendly manner.
